Adult CPR + AED (CEU)

Need a refresher or renewal? In our CPR and AED classes, participants will learn essential life-saving techniques to respond effectively in cardiac emergencies. The course typically covers the basic principles of CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), including chest compressions and rescue breathing. Participants will also learn how to use an AED (Automated External Defibrillator), a crucial device that can restore normal heart rhythm in sudden cardiac arrest situations. The curriculum usually includes instruction on recognizing the signs of cardiac arrest, assessing the scene for safety, and activating emergency medical services. Participants will learn the steps to perform CPR on adults adapting their technique based on the victim's age and condition. They'll also receive training on how to use an AED properly, including electrode pad placement and following voice prompts. In addition to hands-on practice, participants will learn about the importance of early defibrillation in improving survival rates for cardiac arrest victims. They'll understand the role of bystander intervention in increasing the chances of a positive outcome and learn how to coordinate their efforts with emergency responders. Throughout the class, emphasis is placed on maintaining high-quality CPR, which involves adequate compression depth, rate, and recoil. Participants will learn how to effectively perform rescue breaths while minimizing interruptions in chest compressions. They will also receive training on how to recognize when CPR is needed, assess the victim's responsiveness, and activate the emergency response system. By the end of the CPR and AED class, participants will feel confident and prepared to respond in cardiac emergencies. They'll have the skills and knowledge needed to perform CPR and use an AED effectively, potentially saving lives in their homes, workplaces, or communities. With expert-led instruction and hands-on practice, participants will leave the class equipped to make a difference in critical situations.
